Living To Serve Him

Like any other Church Dromore Cathedral is supported by many volunteers who lead our youth groups and make many of our events and meetings possible.

Our main ministry team is composed of our Dean and Rector Geoff Wilson, our curate Trevor McKeown and our assistant Jonathan.

GEOFF WILSONDean and Rector
The Revd Samuel Geoffrey (Geoff) Wilson, B.Th was Instituted as Rector of Dromore Cathedral Parish and Installed as Dean of the Diocese of Dromore on Friday 18th November 2016.

Ordained in 2004, Geoff’s first charge was the Swanlinbar Group in the Diocese of Kilmore and in 2009 he was instituted Rector of Shankill Parish – the largest Parish Church in Ireland.

Rev. Trevor took up his non-stipendary ministry in Dromore in 2004. Previously a member of Knocknamuckley Parish and still working in the Life Assurance business, Trevor serves regularly at the traditional services in the church. With a quiet and compassionate nature, Trevor is well liked by the congregation and he and Joy became valued members of church family very quickly following his ordination as Deacon in 2004 and Presbyter in 2005.
CHRISTINE SHANKS
CHRISTINE SHANKSChildren's and Youth Worker
Christine Shanks started her role as the Cathedral’s Children’s and Youth Worker on the 1st July 2019. Previous to this role she was the Children’s Worker at Shankill Parish Lurgan for six years. Christine has been involved with ministry to children from the age of sixteen through good news clubs, holiday bible clubs and mission trips. Christine has a degree in English with Education and is also a piano teacher. Christine lives in Tandragee and is married to Andrew and they have a lovely little cocker spaniel called Poppy.
KAREN BOWDENWorship Leader
Karen was appointed to the role of Worship Leader in Dromore Cathedral in January 2020, having previously served in the same role from May 2010 – June 2015. She has been involved in leading worship since her late teens, both in contemporary praise teams and church choirs. During her break from the post in 2015 she joined a local Community Choir, which was the inspiration for the formation of Soma, a singing group birthed in Dromore Cathedral in 2018.

Jill is the voice and ear of the Parish Office: working part-time Jill helps to keep the wheels of the parish running smoothly with her gentle spirit at work in the office.
BOYD MCCLURGSexton
Boyd was appointed our Sexton (Part-time) on 29th January 2018.
ORLY WATSONOrganist
Orly Watson B.A. Mus (Oxon), M.A.Mus (RAM) became Organist of the Cathedral on 1st February 2016.
