Organisations, ministries and volunteering…
There are lots of organisations and ministries to suit all ages and interests at the Cathedral…
Lesson Reading

We have a small group of people who read the Bible Lessons at the 10:00am, 10:45am and 11:30am services. If this is something you feel you could do, please speak to the Rector or contact the church office.
Cathedral Choir

The Cathedral Choir is a group of enthusiastic singers of all ages who lead worship mainly at the 11:30am services but also at the monthly family service at 10:45am on the 4th Sunday, and on special occasions such as Christmas, Easter and Harvest. If singing is your thing, feel free to go along and sit with the choir any Sunday!
Praise Team

The Praise Team leads worship at the 10:00am and 10:45am services as well as the Praise, Prayer & Testimony services on the first Sunday evening of each month (except July and August). There is a rota system in operation with 2 or 3 singers at each service. The team is always on the lookout for singers or musicians. Please see Karen Bowden if you can help out.
Kingdom Kids

Kingdom Kids is our Sunday School for primary school aged children.
The children meet in the Cathedral Hall each week during the 10:00am service (apart from the 4th Sunday of the month).
All children from age 4 (P1) to 11 (P7) are very welcome to come along to learn more about God, take part in crafts, games and activities and to hear a Gospel Message.
Fore more information about sending your child(ren) along or if you can help by volunteering, please see Christine Shanks.
BOOST, PULSE & CONNECT Youth

BOOST, PULSE and CONNECT are our youth programmes for teenagers of secondary school age.
On the first and second Sunday of the month, the young people meet during our Cathedral praise service, from 10:15am to 11:15am in The Base (Youth for Christ) or the Rectory Garden.
PULSE and CONNECT take place on the third and fourth Sunday evenings at 7:15pm, in The Base. Here, the young people connect with youth groups from other churches in the town.
For more information about sending a young person along or to enquire about helping out as a volunteer, please see Christine Shanks.
Girls' Brigade

The Cathedral Company of the Girls’ Brigade meets on Tuesday evenings between September and Easter.
– Under 5’s and Explorers from 6:15pm to 7:25pm
– Juniors, Seniors and Brigaders from 7:30pmto 8:30pm.
The Captain is Leanne Teggart.
If you would like more information, please contact Leanne or check out the GB’s own Facebook page.
Sound

Our sound team ensure that the music, singers and speakers are heard and balanced appropriately. It is also important that sound operators ensure the 10:45am and 11:30am services are recorded each week for CD ministry to housebound parishioners If you are interested in helping or learning more, please speak to the Rector or Scott Mackey.
PowerPoint and Cameras

We have a state of the art Audio Visual System that was installed by Rea Sound of Cookstown in 2021 which requires small team of people who help operate the screens in church. This usually involves PowerPoint and/or cameras. From time to time, some services are also live-streamed, but this is not a regular occurrence. If you would like to know more, please contact the Rector or speak to any member of the team.
Refreshments

Refreshments are served in the Cathedral Hall between the 10:00am and 11:30am services. But the tea won’t make itself nor will the cups find their own way back into the cupboard.
We also have a team who provide hospitality at other occasions such as funerals. If you could help, please contact Jill in the office.
Flower Arranging

The flowers at the front of the Cathedral are arranged each week by a team of volunteers who usually operate on a monthly basis. Flowers are normally donated or provided by parishioners, often in memory of a family member. If you think you could donate or provide flowers or even help with arranging, please see Sara McCorkell or contact Jill in the office.
